Behind the Planet of the Apes is a documentary that first aired in September, 1998. The special was hosted by Roddy McDowall and examined the original Planet of the Apes film franchise including production, casting, special effects, as well as the evolution of the franchise from film to film as well as it's spin-off television projects. The documentary was directed by Kevin Burns and David Comtois.
