The Beehive was a massive laboratory citadel owned and operated by the scientific research cartel known as The Enclave. It was located on an extremely remote island somewhere in the North Atlantic Ocean.

- Lock 41 was a vault room located in the underground areas of the island laboratory known as the Beehive, which was operated by The Enclave. When The Enclave scientists bio-genetically created an evolved human dubbed "Him", the creation escaped from its life-containment pod and flew into the tunnels behind Lock 41. Scientist Jerome Hamilton, accompanied by Enclave guest Alicia Masters, opened the giant metal door leading into the vault and pursued him into the tunnels. The being blocked their path by radiating a wall of red flame. [1]
