Batman Begins is an American feature film of the action and superhero fantasy genres. It is based on the character of Batman featured in comic book titles published by DC Comics. This is the first installment in what has since come to be known as "The Dark Knight Trilogy". The movie was directed by Christopher Nolan and written by Nolan and David S. Goyer. It was produced by DC's parent company, Warner Bros. and released through Legendary Pictures. The film premiered theatrically in the United States on June 15th, 2005.
