"Ebon Masquery" is the title the 387th issue of the first Batman ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics. The story was written by Doug Moench with artwork and inks by Tom Mandrake. Plot[]
In this issue, Bruce Wayne holds a lavish masequerade ball at Wayne Manor in the hopes of luring Black Mask out into the open. Black Mask, recognizing it as an obvious trap, goes to the party with the False Face Society. Batman and Robin's pursuit of him leads back to the Sionis family crypt. Sionis is trapped in a fire that fuses his mask to his face. Afterward, he is taken to Arkham Asylum.

- Batman was created by comic book writer Bill Finger and graphic artist Bob Kane. He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939. He received his first ongoing series, Batman, in the Spring, 1940 beginning with Batman #1.
- This issue shipped in both direct market and newsstand editions.
- The tagline to this issue is "What terrifying secret lurks... behind the Black Mask!"
- No inker or cover inker credit is given. In situations like this, it is inferred that the penciler is also the inker, which in this case, is Tom Mandrake.
- This is the third appearance of Roman Sionis, aka Black Mask. He appeared last in Detective Comics #553 in "The False Face Society of Gotham".
