"Elegant Night Crimes" is the title to the 363rd issue of the first Batman ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics. The story was written by Doug Moench with artwork by Don Newton and inks by Alfredo Alcala. It was colored by Adrienne Roy and lettered by Ben Oda. The cover art illustration was rendered by Ed Hannigan, Dick Giordano, and Anthony Tollin. The story was edited by Len Wein with Nicola Cuti as assistant editor. - Batman was created by comic book writer Bill Finger and graphic artist Bob Kane. He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939. He received his first ongoing series, Batman, in the Spring, 1940 beginning with Batman #1.
- The tagline for this issue is "Introducing: Nocturna".
- The events of this issue follows Detective Comics #529, but takes place prior to Batman and the Outsiders #1.
- This is the first full appearance of Nocturna, whose real name is Natasha Knight; also referred to as Natalia Knight. She previously made an introductory cameo appearance in Detective Comics #529. Her origin is briefly alluded to in that issue, but more fully fleshed out in this issue.
- Charles Knight - the father to Anton and Natalia Knight, appears in flashback only in this issue.
