  • This issue introduces Arkham Asylum. Arkham becomes a major setting for many Batman stories in years to come and is the principal containment facility for criminals who are too mentally unbalanced to be remanded to a conventional prison facility. It is referred to as Arkham Hospital in this issue. It appears next in Batman #260.
