- Batman was created by comic book writer Bill Finger and graphic artist Bob Kane. He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939. He received his first ongoing series, Batman, in the Spring, 1940 beginning with Batman #1.
- Readership level for this book is grades 1-2.
- This book carries a similar title to "The Purr-fect Crime" episode of the 1966 Batman television series. It is not an adaptation however, and the only points of commonality are the characters of Batman and Catwoman, and the presence of cats.
