Batman: Assault on Arkham is an American animated film of the superhero fantasy genre. It was produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation and is based on characters from the Batman and Suicide Squad lines of comic book titles published by DC Comics. The movie was co-directed by Jay Oliva and Ethan Spaulding with a script written by Heath Corson. It was first screened at San Diego Comic-Con International on July 25th, 2014. It was then released direct-to-video and in digital media on August 12th, 2014. The movie features the voice talents of Kevin Conroy as Batman - the same voice actor who portrayed him in Batman: The Animated Series. Also starring in the film is Neal McDonough as Deadshot, Hynden Walch as Harley Quinn, Matthew Gray Gubler as the Riddler, Troy Baker as the Joker, Jonny Rees as Captain Boomerang, Jennifer Hale as Killer Frost, Giancarlo Esposito as Black Spider, and CCH Pounder as Amanda Waller. Despite its title, this film actually focuses more on the Suicide Squad, with Batman taking a supporting cast role.
