Batline

"Uhh, what are ya doing with your hand there, Bruce?"

The Batline, also known as the bat-rope, is a fictional item featured in the Batman multimedia franchise. It is considered a major asset in Batman's crime-fighting arsenal and has appeared in nearly every iteration of the character. Batman's partners also possess a batline including Robin and Batgirl.
