Bast, also known as Bastet, is a deific figure from ancient Egyptian mythology. This goddess took the form of a humanoid lioness and was worshiped in the city of Bubastis. She is the daughter of Ra and Isis. She is often associated with Sekhmet. Worship of Bast was strongest during the 2nd dynasty. In some forms of fiction, Bast has also been represented as a male.
