Biography[]
Barry Simms was a radio personality who resided in Livingston County, Illinois in the mid 1990s. He worked as a "shock jock" D.J. and was the host of a radio program known as Back Talk With Barry Simms. Barry's true personality seemed to match his on-air demeanor, which was that of an outspoken and obnoxious individual, known for controversial acts and being rude to his guests.
On Halloween night in 1995, Barry hosted a special Halloween edition of Back Talk With Barry Simms in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois. Haddonfield was infamous as the birth place of masked serial killer Michael Myers. The show dealt with how local college students wanted to bring back the traditions of Halloween after it had been banned in Haddonfield following a string of brutal murders in 1988 and 1989.
Taking his throne at center stage, Barry played to the excited crowd and invited two students, Tim Strode and his girlfriend Beth onto the stage for an interview. Beth revealed that Tim Strode lived in Michael Myers' original homestead - a fact that Tim was unaware of up until this point. Barry saw high ratings and dollar signs, so he openly suggested relocating the remainder of the show to the Myers' house.
Barry was getting ready to leave in his van towards the house when Michael Myers appeared behind him, clamped his hand over Barry’s mouth to silence him and stabbed him in the chest and proceeded to gut him. He then placed Barry's still-bleeding body in a tree.
Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Barry Simms was created by director Joe Chappelle and writer Daniel Farrands.

- Barry Simms shares the same last name as Bob Simms, who was a victim of Michael Myers as seen in the original Halloween. Whether there is any sort of familial connection between the two is unknown, but it seems unlikely that Barry would be so glib about Michael Myers if one of his family members had been killed by him.
- Although Barry Simms likely lived somewhere in Livingston County, it is unknown whether he was a resident of Haddonfield.
- Barry Simms is the fiftieth murder victim of Michael Myers. He is the sixth victim killed in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers and is the third male victim. He is the first victim in the film to be stabbed to death with a knife.
