Baron is a title attributed to a landowner of nobility. It is typically used in regions in Western Europe. An example of a baron in popular fiction would be Baron Frankenstein, who is usually identified by his full name, Victor Frankenstein. In the 1931 film adaptation of Frankenstein by Universal Pictures, there is an elderly character named Baron Frankenstein, who is the father of Henry Frankenstein. In the Hammer Horror film series, Peter Cushing played the role of Victor Frankenstein (also known as Victor Stein), where he was identified as being a Baron.
