Original Universe[]

Barbara Eileen Gordon was a red-haired woman from Chicago, Illinois. She was the first wife of James Gordon, who was a lieutenant in the Chicago Police Department. Gordon accepted a position in Gotham City, and Barbara moved, giving birth to their son, James Gordon, Jr., shortly thereafter. When James' brother, Roger, was killed, Barbara and James adopted their orphan daughter, who was also named Barbara.

New 52[]

Barbara Eileen Gordon was from Gotham City and was the wife of police commissioner James Gordon. They had two children, James Gordon, Jr., and Barbara Gordon. When Barbara was twelve-years-old, her mother abandoned her family. She didn't see her again until Christmas, many years later, when she suddenly showed up at her daughter's doorstep one evening.
