Synopsis[]
At the Watchroid Delta of the Ravenstarr Galaxy part of the Shi'ar Empire, an officer named Gristle reports to Majestrix Kallark, informing him of the recovery of some Shi'ar, who miraculously survived a catastrophic event that destroyed a Shi'ar Dreadnought. Kallark takes note of the star-shaped burns across the victims' bodies, and provides them with a mercy killing courtesy of his laser eyes. Fearing the re-emergence of the Starbrand, Kallark flies off in order to find help. He sends a distress beacon to Earth in order to contact the Avengers.
At Avengers Mountain, Captain America rallies the team together. Boarding the Avengers Quinjet, they launch through a stargate and use Celestial warp technology to get to the Ravenstarr Galaxy.
Days pass. In that time, the Avengers find themselves hopelessly abandoned in the prison environment of the Shi'ar. They have been actively engaged in combat with the Brood. Asgardian hero Thor Odinson is infected by the Brood and transforms into one of them. As such, he is no longer worthy to wield Mjolnir.
Suddenly, the Silver Surfer arrives to lend a hand.
