"The Coming of the Avengers!" is the premiere issue of the first volume of the ongoing comic book series The Avengers, published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby with finished art work by Dick Ayers. Kirby and Ayers also composed the cover art illustration with Stan Goldberg on colors. The regular colorist and letterer on the issue is unknown. The book was edited by Stan Lee, who was also the Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics at the time of publication. The issue shipped with a September, 1963 cover date and carried a cover price of 12 cents per copy (US).
