"Nightmare in Red" is the ninth episode of season two of the animated superhero fantasy series Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the thirty-fifth episode of the series overall. It was directed by Boyd Kirkland with a script written by Mark Parsons. It first aired on Disney XD on June 24th, 2012.

Plot[]

General Thaddeus Ross and Colonel Glenn Talbot visit the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and consult with Director Maria Hill about their desire to obtain a sample of the Hulk's blood. Meanwhile, the Helicarrier is infiltrated by shape-shifting Skrulls, who inject a subject with the Hulk's blood, transforming him into a powerful Red Hulk. Bruce Banner is pulled off of vacation to deal with this new red menace.
