- The character of Arthur Douglas was created by writer Mike Friedrich and writer/artist Jim Starlin.
- Arthur Douglas originally hails from Burbank, California.
- A version of Drax was represented in the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy feature film. He was played by former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista.
- During his time with the Infinity Watch, Drax was charged with guardianship of the Power Gem. In his own dim-witted way, he believed the best means of protecting it was to eat it.
