An armored car is something of a misnomer. While it is in fact a vehicle, it is neither a car, nor armored. Such vehicles are usually trucks with a highly durable frame, whereas armor actually covers the framework of an item. Either way, armored trucks are used to transport money or other valuable goods from one place to another - usually from a place of business to a bank. In speculative fiction, armored cars are prime targets for various criminals looking to score a lot of money in a relatively easy and short amount of time. While most armored cars can withstand a lot of punishment, a savvy criminal will come prepared to deal with such an eventuality.
