Ark II is an American television series of the science fiction genre aimed at younger viewers. The series was created by Martin Roth and produced by Norm Prescott and Lou Scheimer and their company, Filmation Associates. It aired on weekends on CBS from September 11th to December 18th, 1976, spanning a total of only fifteen episodes. The show starred Terry Lester as Jonah, Jean Marie Hon as Ruth, José Flores as Samuel and the chimpanzee Adam as a highly-intelligent version of himself.
The setting of the series was Earth of the year 2476. After centuries of pollution and mistreatment, the Earth has now become a toxic and barren wasteland. A group of scientists led by Jonah travel across the planet in the highly advanced all-terrain vehicle, the Ark II, laboring to restore the planet to its former vitality.
