Ariel Chylde is a fictional comic book adventurer, best known by the code name of Darkchylde. She was created by Randy Queen and first appeared as the second feature in the 1996 one-shot flip book Glory/Angela: Angels in Hell #1 by Image Comics. Although the character was introduced as an Image Comics property, her further stories were first chronicled in the Darkchylde comic book limited series by Maximum Press. The character was again published by Image in 1997 until taking up a permanent home with Darkchylde Entertainment in 2000 with the limited series Dreams of the Darkchylde.

Ariel Chylde is a blonde-haired teenage girl who generally wears skimpy clothing. A cursed soul, she manifests the ability to draw hideous creatures from her darkest nightmares and assume their form so that she can save her home town from the forces of darkness.
