An Archduke is a title and a form of address. To be an archduke means you're not quite cool enough to be a full Duke, but you're still pretty damn cool. It is a title usually afforded to those of noble birth or bearing, and generally assumes a level of authority over a particular group of people or territory, as well as being a land-owner.
In the Star Wars multimedia franchise, Poggle the Lesser was considered an Archduke of the Geonosians.
On the TV series Angel, Sebassis was a demon and an Archduke of Hell.
