Arbazans are an extraterrestrial humanoid race, who presumably hail from the planet Arbazan. Very little is known about them, but for the fact that they were still in existence as late as the 24th century and were members of the United Federation of Planets. In the year 2369, an Arbazan delegate named Taxco accompanied several other ambassadors to space station Deep Space 9 on a fact-finding mission. The station's commander, Benjamin Sisko instructed Doctor Julian Bashir to chaperone the delegates during their time aboard the station. Taxco was an arrogant and haughty woman and treated Bashir as if he were little more than a menial servant. She was unimpressed by the guest quarters aboard the station and made a request to be placed into more spacious environs, even if it meant that Bashir had to give up his own crew quarters.
While escorting the delegates to their quarters, a fire broke out in one of the corridors and the fire-suppression systems failed to contain it. Bashir saved Taxco's life and as such, she developed a new appreciation for him. [1]
