"The Shade of Things to Come"[]
Construction plans in Sub Diego continue on their way. During an outdoor lunch with Esther Maris, Aquaman learns about Anton Geist's involvement with Progene Tech. He returns to Sub Diego to find Captain Malrey in battle with a giant monster. Aquaman helps to fight the monster, but Malrey is gravely injured. He brings him to Geist's lab, and has a few choice words for him about his involvement in the company that owns his DNA.
At Progene Tech, Gregory Jupiter has a meeting with Black Manta. The two discuss the future of Sub Diego, and Jupiter offers to use his resources to secure Black Manta a position of power.
Back in Atlantis, Koryak gets into an argument with Tempest and begins whining about his birthright again. Tempest notes that it doesn't matter as Atlantis does not have a king any longer, and likely never will again.
Later, Aquaman returns to San Diego and spends a romantic evening with Esther.
