Aquaman is an American feature film of the superhero fantasy genre. It is based on the Aquaman line of comic book titles published by DC Comics. This is the sixth installment in the DC Extended Universe film franchise and follows 2017's Justice League. The movie was directed by James Wan with a screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story concept by Wan, Beall, and Geoff Johns. It was produced by DC Entertainment for Warner Bros. and premiered theatrically in the United States on December 21st, 2018.
Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as the eponymous Aquaman, aka Arthur Curry as previously seen in Justice League and a cameo appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Co-starring in the film is Amber Heard as his paramour, Mera, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Julie Andrews as the voice of Karathen, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Temuera Morrison as Arthur's adoptive father, Thomas Curry, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane, aka Black Manta.
