Anna Devere is a fictional child featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She made a single appearance in the "Deathrace!" story from Ghost Rider, Volume 2 #35 in April, 1979.
Biography[]
Anna Devere was a little girl who found herself lost in the desert. Unfortunately for her, her predicament piqued the interest of the Death Ryder, who selected her as the "dangling carrot" to be used in a motorcycle race between himself and Johnny Blaze, aka, Ghost Rider. If the Death Ryder reached the girl first, he would kill her, thus winning the race. If Ghost Rider reached her first, she could be saved, and Ghost Rider would win the race.
The Death Ryder did everything it could to cheat, but Ghost Rider leaped from his own motorcycle and reached Anna before the Death Ryder could touch her. Her life was spared and she presumably went on to live a normal life.
