The Ankh chain is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the Son of Satan line of titles and first appeared in Marvel Spotlight #13 in September, 1973.
Description & History[]
The Ankh chain was a necklace adorned with multiple decorative ankh symbols. Victoria Wingate came into possession of this item sometime prior to being locked away in a mental institution. The last time that her adult son, Daimon Hellstrom, came to visit, Victoria gave him the chain, pleading with him to wear it, for it was the only thing that could protect him from his father - The Devil. Daimon nursed a deep hatred of his father, but when the devil's voice began whispering in his ear, he did his bidding and removed the ankh - the only thing that could protect him from his father's influence.

- The Ankh is an Egyptian hieroglyph, similar in shape to a crucifix, but with a looped headpiece. The symbol of the Ankh was used to represent life.
- The DC Comics character Death wears an ankh necklace as a symbol of office.
