Biography[]
Anita Bircham, or Burcham, was an African American girl who was born in Sawtail Gap, Kentucky, around the year 1973. Hailing from an underprivelged upbringing, she was selected to become participate in the "experiment in sharing" event sponsored by Herman and Lilly Miranda at Camp New Horizons in New York.
She introduced herself to reporter Tawny Richards, who was writing a puff piece about Camp New Horizons' new program. In the main hall, Anita gravitated towards other troubled teens like Arab, Riff, and Snowboy. On the first day of campground activity, Lilly Miranda divided the campers into three squads. Anita was part of a squad that included Greg Nakashima, Marcia Holland, and Tony DeHerrera, which was led by a counselor named Barney Whitmore.
During Anita's stay at the campground, spree killer Angela Baker began systematically taking out the various campers and staff members based upon her own twisted set of morality. She captured Anita along with another camper named Greg Nakashima and kept them tucked away inside of a cabin. She rigged a booby trapped axe that came down from the ceiling, catching Greg in the chest. Angela did not seem to have any apparent motive for killing Anita other than that she found her boring. [3]
