The Andromeda Breakthrough was a short-lived television program that aired on the BBC from June to August of 1962. The series was a sequel to the 1961 program A for Andromeda and included many of the same production crew members. Actor Peter Halliday reprised his role as scientist Doctor John Fleming. The role of Andromeda however, formerly played by Julie Christie, was now portrayed by Susan Hampshire. Although the original prints of A for Andromeda are considered lost, The Andromeda Breakthrough still survives and was compiled along with recovered clips of the first series on The Andromeda Anthology DVD set in 2006.
