Andromeda is a joint Canadian/American science fiction television series that aired on the Global Television Network and the Sci-Fi Channel from October of 2000 to May of 2005 spanning five seasons (22 episodes per season) for a total of 110 episodes. The series was originally conceived by the late Gene Roddenberry, better known as the creator of the Star Trek franchise.

Season two of Andromeda aired from October 1st, 2001 to May 13th, 2002. Original series cast members, Kevin Sorbo, Lisa Ryder, Gordon Michael Woolvett, Laura Bertram, Brent Stait and Lexa Doig all returned for the second season of the show, reprising their respective roles. Season two also saw the introduction of Telemachus Rhade - the genetic successor to the season one character Gaheris Rhade, and again was played by actor Steve Bacic. Telemachus became a regular cast member on the series from his introduction in "Home Fires" until the end of the series.

Actor Kevin Sorbo became an executive producer on Andromeda beginning with the season premiere, "The Widening Gyre".
