Andre Delambre - Just a normal bloke.
Andre Delambre was a Canadian scientist who lived in Montreal, Québec. He was the younger brother of fellow scientist and businessman François Delambre and was married to Helene Delambre. They had a son named Philippe.
Andre was obsessive when it came to his work, and his biggest scientific breakthrough came in the form of twin teleportation pods that he referred to as disintegration-reintegration machines. He was successful with transporting inanimate matter, albeit with some minor challenges, such as written words on objects rematerializing backwards. After solving this problem, he decided to move on to living test subjects.

The Fly is looking for some "quality time".
He first experimented by transporting the family cat, Dandelo. Dandelo did not full rematerialize, but Andre could hear his disembodied mewling coming from somewhere that he could not identify. His next test subject was a guinea pig, which proved to be successful. He gave the guinea pig to Helene to care for and observe for side effects.

"Crap. Everything is sticky".
Too anxious to await full results, Andre Delambre did what all great scientists tend to do - he tested his own invention on himself. Unfortunately for Delambre, he did not account for the fact that an ordinary housefly had flown into the transportation pod with him. When he re-emerged, the machine combined the characteristics of the fly with that of Andre, giving him the head and left arm of a fly. The fly itself was also mutated, now bearing Delambre's head and right arm, albeit in smaller proportion.
Initially, Andre refused to tell Helene what had happened. He threw a black cloak over his head and labored feverishly to reverse the process. As this began to fail, he finally informed Helene of the situation by sliding her notes underneath the laboratory door, as he now had the mandible of a fly and could no longer speak. In short order, Andre's intelligence began to wane and he was driven into madness and despair.

"Help me! Help meeeeeee!"
Finally revealing his actual visage to his wife, he coaxed her into assisting him with ending his own tormented life. He placed his head and arm inside a massive hydraulic press and had Helene activate the machine, which crushed him to death.
In the days that followed, Andre's brother Francoise and police inspector Charas found the small fly with Andre's head trapped in a spider's web just as it was being consumed by a large spider. Inspector Charas put Andre out of his misery by smashing both animals with a large rock. [2]
