Amodeus Q. Termineus is a fictional comic book villain and an antagonist featured in titles published by Marvel Comics. He is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and first appeared in Man-Thing, Vol. 3 #2 in January, 1998.
Biography[]
By his own account, Amodeus Q. Termineus was quite possibly some Antediluvian god of an unknown Pagan culture. Whatever his origins might have been, Termineus manifested in the modern era as an agent provocateur who developed a keen interest in the shattered Nexus of All Realities.
Termineus sought to control the power of the individual Nexus fragments, but could not acquire them on his own. Rather, he manipulated a woman named Ellen Brandt into aiding him in this endeavor. In so doing he gained the assistance of Brandt's former husband, the Man-Thing. He supplied Ellen with a mystic staff that brought her to the Rosewell Sanitarium in Charles, Massachusetts.
There, Termineus found a fragment of the Nexus locked inside the tortured soul of former Devil Slayer turned mental patient, Eric Simon Payne. Termineus also developed an interest in Ellen's son, Job, who had been raised by the Burke family.
