Notes[]

  • American Horror Story was created by Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy and produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series is unique from other such programs in that each season is a self-contained storyline with a different cast of characters and actors, though many cast members are recycled as different characters from season to season.
  • This series is rated TV-MA. It contains strong language and violence. Viewer discretion is advised.
  • This episode is production code number 6ATS10.
  • This episode had a viewership of 2.45 million people upon its initial broadcast, making it the 8th most viewed episode of the season. It is up by 0.017 from the previous episode.
  • This is the finale episode of the "Roanoke" storyline.
  • Scenes with Jether Polk appear in archival footage only.
  • Trixie Mattel portrays himself in this episode. He is credited as Brian Firkus. He is a drag queen performer, songwriter and TV personality who's best known for having participated in several editions of RuPaul's Drag Race.
  • Actress Savannah Halliday is credited as Savannah Rose Liles in this episode.
  • On The Movie Database, this episode has a weighted review score of 62% among user votes.
  • This is the second appearance of Brian Wells. He appeared last in "Chapter 6".
  • As of this episode, Sarah Paulson has now played three characters in the "Roanoke" storyline. She has played Shelby Miller (reenactment), Audrey Tindall and now Lana Winters.
  • To date, this is the fourteenth and final appearance of the character of Lana Winters on American Horror Story. She appeared last in the present day setting in the "Asylum" finale, "Madness Ends".
  • The last 10 minutes of this episode is the only part of the entire "Roanoke" season not to play out as found hidden camera footage, production b-roll footage, or news/television program footage.

Trivia[]

Allusions[]

  • This episode ties the "Roanoke" storyline with that of the season two story-arc "Asylum" through the character of Lana Winters. Characters from that season also tie into season four's "Freak Show". A character from "Freak Show" is represented as an action figure in the upcoming season seven plot, "Cult", implying that season seven exists in a reality wherein seasons 2,4, and 6 (at the very least) only exist as a television program and is not part of season 7 continuity.

Quotes[]

  • Dave Elder: Not only are we here without any authorization, but we're here in the middle of the blood moon.
