"The Man Called Electro!" is the title to the ninth issue of the first Amazing Spider-Man comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Stan Lee, with artwork by Steve Ditko. Ditko also provided the inking for this issue, as well as the cover art composition. The story was colored by Stan Goldberg with lettering by Artie Simek. It was edited by Stan Lee. This issue shipped with a February, 1964 cover date and carries a cover price of .12 cents per copy (US).

Spidey's first fight against Electro is truly shocking!

  • The character of Spider-Man was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August, 1962 in a story titled "Spider-Man!" The character has since gone on to become one of the most well-known and enduring super-heroes of all time, having appeared in numerous comic book titles, as well as feature films, animated projects and video games.
  • "ASM 9" serves as a shortcut to this page.
  • This is the first appearance of Maxwell Dillon, aka Electro. He appears next in Daredevil #2. His origin is revealed in flashback in this issue.
  • Flash Thompson makes reference to when he fought Peter Parker. This took place in Amazing Spider-Man #8.
  • This is the first and only appearance to date of Harris, who appears in a flashback to Electro's origin only.
