"The Sinister Shocker!" is the title to issue #46 of the first Amazing Spider-Man ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by and edited Stan Lee with artwork and inks by John Romita. Romita also rendered the cover art illustration for this issue. It was lettered by Sam Rosen. This issue shipped with a March, 1967 cover date and carries a cover price of .12 cents per copy.

- The character of Spider-Man was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August, 1962 in a story titled "Spider-Man!" The character has since gone on to become one of the most well-known and enduring super-heroes of all time, having appeared in numerous comic book titles, as well as feature films, animated projects and video games.

- This is the first appearance and origin of Herman Schultz, aka the Shocker. He appears next in Amazing Spider-Man #72.
- This is the first appearance of Harry Osborn's apartment.
- Flash Thompson's farewell party is held in this issue. Flash has been drafted into the United States Army and is about to go off to fight in Vietnam. Given the timescale method of the Marvel Universe, this particular event is now considered apocryphal.
