- The character of Spider-Man was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August, 1962 in a story titled "Spider-Man!" The character has since gone on to become one of the most well-known and enduring super-heroes of all time, having appeared in numerous comic book titles, as well as feature films, animated projects and video games.
- This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
- This issue shipped to retailers on November 1st, 1983.
- This issue was released following Amazing Spider-Man Annual #17.
- Danny Fingeroth becomes the regular editor on the series, replacing Tom DeFalco, who departed the title with issue #247.
- Peter Parker makes reference to when he first proposed to Mary Jane Watson. This occurred in Amazing Spider-Man #183.
- Peter Parker wears a half-top in this issue. Gotta love the '80s.
- The intense spider-sense flash that Peter Parker experiences at the beginning of this story is due to the presence of the all-powerful Beyonder. This is revealed in Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #1 in May, 1984.
