The story was written by Gerry Conway with artwork by Gil Kane and art assists by Paul Reinman. It was inked by John Romita with background inks by Tony Mortellaro. It was colored by Stan Goldberg and lettered by Art Simek. The cover art illustration was rendered by John Romita and Morrie Kuramoto. The story was edited by Roy Thomas. This issue shipped with a May, 1973 cover date and carries a cover price of .20 cents per copy.

Spider-Man vs. the Hulk!
- The character of Spider-Man was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August, 1962 in a story titled "Spider-Man!" The character has since gone on to become one of the most well-known and enduring super-heroes of all time, having appeared in numerous comic book titles, as well as feature films, animated projects and video games.

"Hulk get pissy!"

- Reference is made to Doctor Octopus in this issue. Doc Ock hired the private investigator to tail Peter Parker because he has a vested interest in May Parker's medical state.
- This is the first, and to date, only known appearance of Costeau, who is an officer in the Canadian Army.
- Thaddeus Ross obtained permission from the Canadian government to bring his own troops into the country to hunt the Hulk in Incredible Hulk #162.
