Biography[]
Elmo, also known as Big Elmo, was a large muscular black man who worked at Calliope's Carnival and Circus as a strong man. He was slow of wit, but gracious in heart, and seemed to get along well with the other carnival staff, except for a curmudgeoneous lion tamer named Mige.
Elmo was present the day that Mister Calliope and Swami Rhiva introduced the staff to the carnival's newest attraction, Jack Russell - "The Wild Man of Borneo". In truth, Jack was actually a werewolf, and Rhiva required him for a ritual to unlock the secrets of a gem called the Bloodstone. [2]
When the werewolf broke free of his cage, Elmo was forced to help defend his friends against his vicious attack. He held no ill will towards the creature however, and when the werewolf reverted back to human form, Elmo sat outside his cage, and told him the story of how Swami Rhiva brought them all together.
When the night came for the ritual to be performed, Big Elmo realized that it would result in the werewolf's demise. Unwilling to let an otherwise innocent creature die, Elmo disrupted the ritual. The lion tamer, Mige, flew into a rage over this, and shot Elmo multiple times with a pistol. Before dying from his wounds, Elmo took the little person up in a bear hug and crushed him to death. [3]
