Amaya Jiwe, also known by her code name Vixen, is a fictional super-hero and time traveler and a recurring main character featured on the CW Network television series Legends of Tomorrow. Played by actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers, she first appeared in the season two episode, "Out of Time".

Biography

Amaya Jiwe was a young African woman from the nation of Zambesi. In the early 1940s, she inherited the mystical Tantu Totem, which enabled her to call upon the power of the animals, temporarily bestowing her with various abilities such as enhanced strength, the swiftness of a cheetah, the durability of a gorilla, the ability to swim like a dolphin, etc. Gifted with these abilities, she adopted the code name Vixen and became a member of a team of super-heroes known as the Justice Society of America.

In 1941, a member of the Justice Society, Rex Tyler, aka Hourman, was murdered by a time-traveling speedster named Eobard Thawne. In her ongoing crusade to bring Rex's murderer to justice, Amaya aligned herself with a team of time-traveling heroes from the future, colloquially known as the Legends.

During her adventures with the Legends, Amaya developed a romantic interest in teammate Nate Heywood, which proved challenging as both parties were native to two separate time periods. She also developed a bond with the team's resident criminal, Mick Rory.
