"The Secret Origin of Jessica Jones" is the title to the twenty-second issue of the mystery noir series Alias published by Marvel Comics under their MAX imprint. The story was written by Brian Michael Bendis with artwork and inks by Michael Gaydos. It was colored by Matt Hollingsworth and lettered by Cory Petit. The story was edited by C.B. Cebulski & Tom Brevoort with Marc Sumerak and Andy Schmidt as assistant editors. The cover art illustration was rendered by David Mack. This issue shipped with a July, 2003 cover date and carries a cover price of $2.99 per copy (US).
"The Secret Origin of Jessica Jones"[]
Teenager Jessica Campbell lives in Forest Hills and attends classes at Midtown High School. She nurses a secret crush on fellow student Peter Parker, but also fantasizes about celebrity super-hero Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. Jessica's father, Dave Campbell, receives discount tickets to Walt Disney World from his employer, Tony Stark. During the drive, the Campbells are in a horrific car accident, which claims the lives of both her parents, as well as her younger brother, Phil. She is taken to the Moore House for Wayward Children in Queens. The proprietor, Mrs. Moore tells Jessica that the Jones family wishes to adopt her.
