Albert Carstairs is a fictional elderly man and a minor character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He appeared in Journey Into Mystery #57 in March, 1960.
Biography[]
Albert Carstairs was an elderly blind man from an unknown American city. When the alien conqueror Orogo came to Earth, he sought to enslave the human race, and began accomplishing this through the use of hypnosis, which he generated by way of electro-magnetic eye beams in his helmet. Albert Carstairs challenged Orogo, citing that he was immune to his hypnosis. Orogo accepted this challenge and turned his eye beams onto Carstairs. Unaware that Carstairs was blind, the electro-magnetic beams had no effect. Orogo kept amplifying their intensity until the circuits in his helmet overloaded and exploded, killing him.
