A. Apone is a supporting character featured in the 1986 film Aliens. He was played by actor Al Matthews. Apone was presented as the stereotypical cigar-chomping drill sergeant, who is placed in command of the 2nd Battalion 8th Regiment of the United States Colonial Marine Corps.

- The character of Al Apone was created by director James Cameron and screenwriters Walter Hill and David Giler.
- Apone is credited in the film as Sgt. Apone. His first initial is revealed on his HUD equipment on his helmet. Like most of the members of the USCM featured in the film, Apone's first name begins with the same letter as the actor's first name.
- Apone's death was not demonstrated on-camera, but even if by some miracle he would have survived being attacked by the xenomorphs, he could not have feasibly survived the bombing of LV-426 at the end of the film.
- Actor Al Matthews also played a character named General Tudor in the 1997 sci-fi/action film The Fifth Element.
- Apone had an action figure of him made in the Kenner line of Alien toys.
