Aeryn Sun is one of the main characters featured in the 1999-2003 science fiction television series Farscape. Played by Australian actress Claudia Black, she was introduced in the series pilot episode as well as the remaining 87 episodes of the series as well as the 2004 miniseries spin-off Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. Claudia also provided the voice for Aeryn Sun on the Farscape: The Game video game. In addition, the character has appeared in several novels and comic book projects based on the series.

- The character of Aeryn Sun was created by producer Rockne S. O'Bannon.
- Actress Claudia Black also had a recurring role on Stargate SG-1 as Vala Mal Doran. In the 200th episode of the series, appropriately titled "200", Claudia gave a send-up to her character from Farscape.
- In addition to her own Peacekeeper training, Aeryn was familiar with the combat techniques of other cultures. For example, while sparring with the spy known as Matala, she immediately recognized her use of the Scorvian neural stroke and knew that she was actually a Scorvian pretending to be an Ilanic. [1]
