The Adventures of Superman is an American comic book series of the superhero fantasy subgenre. It featured the titular superhero of Superman and was published by DC Comics from January 1987 to April 2006, spanning a total of 230 issues, plus nine annuals. The series continues the numbering sequence from the original Superman, Volume 1 beginning with issue #424 and reverted back to it's original numbering system following issue #649.
Creative teams[]
The first creative team on the series consisted of writer Marv Wolfman and artist Jerry Ordway, who also provided cover art illustrations on the firt-run issues. The inker was Mike Machlan with coloring by Tom Ziuko and lettering by John Costanza. The original editor on the series was Andrew Helfer. John Byrne replaced Marv Wolfman with issue #436 and Ordway became both writer and artist with issue #445. Writer/artist Dan Jurgens would take over running the title from 1989-1991. Jerry Ordway returned as writer of the title with issue 480. Tom Grummett drew part of #480 and became the main artist on the series with the following issue.
