- The character of Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas, artist Gil Kane and inker Frank Giacoia. He first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October, 1971 in a story titled "A Monster Called... Morbius!" The character has since headlined his own serial in Adventure Into Fear, had two of his own ongoing titles as well as a reprint series and has made appearances in numerous other books such as Vampire Tales.
- This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
- The tagline to this issue is "Chaos in a world born of nightmare!"
- This issue is reprinted in standard comic format in Morbius Revisited #3 in October, 1993. It is also reprinted in hardcover in the Morbius the Living Vampire Omnibus in 2019, and the Adventure Into Fear Omnibus in 2020.
- This is the final issue of the series with Len Wein as Editor-in-Chief. Beginning next issue, the Editor-in-Chief is Marv Wolfman.
