The Vulture is a fictional super-villain and a character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is best known as a foe of Spider-Man, and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man, Volume 1 #2 in May 1963 in a story titled, "Duel to the Death with the Vulture!"

Adrian Toomes went after a man named Dougie who had wronged him in the past. He plucked Dougie out of his convertible sports car and terrorized him, but he was then shot in the back by an energy weapon fired by the Taskmaster. Toomes plummeted downward and crashed onto the ground. ^[1]
