Adhesion is the ability to cling to any frictionless surface, either through the secretion of a sticky substance, or through micro-barbs that protrude from the skin or gloves of the individual or through any other number of undefined processes. This is a power usually found in the superhero fantasy genre. The Marvel Comics superheroes Spider-Man and Nightcrawler both possess this ability.
There are also items that can grant individuals the ability to adhere to solid surfaces. The cybernetic super-hero Robotman has powerful suction based enhancements on his limbs that enable him to climb buildings.
