Acid generation

Acid generation is a super-power which reflects the ability of an individual to generate and project volumes of acid. This is strictly an offensive ability and is usually fatal to the intended target. The Xenomorph aliens from the Aliens film series have acid for blood. In times of crisis, they have even been known to injure either themselves or other xenomorphs in order to generate the acid needed for a desired effect.

In Marvel Comics continuity, the muck monster known as the Man-Thing has the ability to produce an acid touch from its fingers. This process is triggered by empathic perception in others relating to fear. The sense of fear is nearby targets causes the Man-Thing rage and pain, which prompts the power. It has become a tagline associated with the character that "Whatever knows fear BURNS at the touch of the Man-Thing!"

The character of Reptile from the Mortal Kombat video game series can project bursts of green acid from his mouth. The character of Piet Voorhees, aka King Cobra from Marvel Comics can likewise spit acid.
