Abaddon is a fictional demon and a recurring antagonist featured on the CW Network television series Supernatural. Played by actress Alaina Huffman, she first appeared in the season eight episode, "As Time Goes By". She made three appearances in season eight and six appearances in season nine, with her final appearance (not counting flashbacks) taking place in episode 9x21, "King of the Damned". Along with Metatron, Abaddon is the central antagonist of season nine.

Biography

Abaddon is a figure that appears in Christian lore. The being, traditionally depicted as male, is a fallen angel, who thus becomes a demon. In the Book of Revelation, Abaddon is known as the "Angel of the Bottomless Pit". Abaddon rules over an army of demonic locusts that will torment people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads, for five months. Some Christian traditions hold that Abaddon is actually the Devil himself.

• The character of Abaddon was created by director Serge Ladouceur and writer Adam Glass based on concepts developed by Eric Kripke.
• Abaddon is also the name of one of the Titans featured in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, though it is barely seen. It is based out of Outpost 77 in Devil's Tower, Wyoming.
• When author Timothy Zahn began writing Star Wars: Heir to the Empire, he discussed his intention to introduced the Imperial throne world. George Lucas gave him the option of naming it either Abaddon or Coruscant. Zahn went with Coruscant.
