She also made a brief and somewhat bittersweet appearance in the film's 2005 sequel, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Aayla Secura's first appearance was in issue #19 of the Star Wars comic book series.

Overview[]

Aayla Secura was a Jedi Knight serving during the years leading up to and including the Clone Wars. She was the padawan learner of Quinlan Vos and served at the First Battle of Geonosis.

Aayla fought during the Clone Wars, where she led a squadron of Clone troopers. She was killed on the planet Felucia by her own troopers in 19 BBY following the issuing of Order 66.

Equipment[]

  • Lightsaber: Aayla Secura used a blue-colored lightsaber during the Clone Wars. She used this saber during the Battle of Geonosis, and on Felucia during the execution of Order 66.

Droids[]

  • QT-KT: QT-KT was a red-domed astromech droid that was assigned to Aayla Secura as a part of D-Squad.
  • R4-G9: R4-G9 was assigned to Aayla Secura to replace QT-KT, which had been re-assigned to someone else.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • The character of Aayla Secura was created by writer John Ostrander and artists Jan Duursema and Rick Magyar, based on concepts originally developed by George Lucas. Along with her master, Quinlan Vos, Aayla Secura is the only other character from the prequel series who was first represented in the Expanded Universe before becoming a canonical figure in a movie.
  • Although a fan favorite in the Star Wars comic book series, Aayla had very little screen time in the movies themselves and no speaking lines.
