- A Discovery of Witches was developed for television by Kate Brooke. It is based on the "All Souls Trilogy" by author Deborah Harkness, who also serves as an executive producer on the TV series. The first book in the series, from which the show takes its title, was published by Penguin Books and released in hardcover edition in 2011.
